The Reason | Luke 2:11

Introduction

This verse explains the reason why we celebrate Christmas. From this verse, we see 5 facts about Christmas.

The Responsibility–>”unto you”

A. When a baby is born, it is born to its parents, not to the state as globalists and communists claim.

B. Christ was born to mankind.

1. We are accountable for our reception or rejection of Christ.
2. We are accountable for our care and service for Christ.

The Reason–>”born this day”

A. The birth of Christ is revered by Christians, for it is Jesus’ birthday.

B. The birth of Christ is rejected by Satan, who replaced Christ with Santa (Satan).

C. The birth of Christ is repressed by intolerant governments and societies.

The Region–>”in the city of David”

A. Bethlehem was where King David was born.

B. Bethlehem was where the King of kings and Lord of lords was born.

C. Bethlehem is the “house of bread” where the Bread of Life was born.

The Redeemer–>”Saviour”

A. The Reason: Jesus was born to save us from:

1. sin
2. self
3. Satan

B. The Reason: Jesus was born to die for our sins, to pay our sin debt,

1. the Innocent for the guilty,
2. the Just for the unjust, 1 Peter 3:18.

The Royalty–>”Christ the Lord”

A. The Reason: Jesus is the Messiah.

B. The Reason: Jesus is God incarnate.
