B. What the Righteous Person Does, v. 2
1. Delights in the Word of God
2. Meditates/Ponders the Word of God
“Meditation chews the cud, and gets the sweetness and nutritive virtue of the Word into the heart and life: this is the way the godly bring forth much fruit,” Ashwood.
C. The Righteous Person Is Blessed, v. 3
1. He is strong and stable, not constantly needy.
2. He is fruitful, producing the fruit of the Spirit.
3. He is productive, even through adversity.
The Way of the Ungodly, vv. 4-5
A. The Dangerous Place of the Ungodly, v. 4
1. The Ungodly may have the appearance of the Godly, but not so.
2. The Ungodly are not stable, without substance, and easily carried away.
B. The Dangerous Future of the Ungodly, v. 5
1. The Ungodly are weighed in the balances of God’s judgment and found wanting, Daniel 5:27.
2. The Ungodly have no place in the glorious future of the righteous, nor in the congregation of the righteous.
Conclusion, v. 6
A. “The Lord knows the way of the righteous”–the Way of Christianity.
B. “The way of the Ungodly shall perish”–>the broad path leads to destruction.
