Revelation 20:1-10
Thesis: The Millennial Kingdom will fulfill completely God’s partially fulfilled promises.
The Millennial Kingdom will fulfill God’s promise to Abraham.
A. The Promised Land, Genesis 15:18-21. Boundaries: Mediterranean Sea, Lebanon, Euphrates River and Nile River.
B. The Arid Climate Change to Fertile Climate
- Ample rainfall (see Isaiah 30 & 35), cattle thrive and abundance of food.
- Earthquake causes freshwater to flow into the Dead Sea and the desert of Sinai.
The Millennial Kingdom will fulfill God’s promise to David.
An Eternal Dynasty through David’s descendant, Jesus Christ, 2 Samuel 7:11- 16.
A. Christ will assume the throne of David, Psalm 89:1-4, 20-37.
B. Christ will rule over Israel and the world, Psalm 72.
C. Christ will rule from Jerusalem, Isaiah 2:3.
D. Christ’s rule will extend through eternity after the millennium.
The Millennial Kingdom will fulfill God’s promise to the World.
A. The Promised New Covenant, Jeremiah 31:33-34.
- “For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea,” Isaiah 11:9.
- Unrestrained preaching of God’s Word and every school becomes a Bible school, Ezekiel 36:24-27.
B. The Temple, Ezekiel 40:1 to 46:24. This Temple is much larger and different in design and function than any temple ever built.
- Sacrificial system reinstituted?
- In the ideal age, people will need a forceful reminder of Christ’s sacrifice to ensure their salvation. These sacrifices will fill the same role that the Lord’s Supper and Baptism do in the present Church Age.
C. Righteousness and Justice, Isaiah 11:3-5 and worldwide peace, Isaiah 2:4.
D. Prosperity and Health
- No defense budgets and no taxation needed, Isaiah 65:21-23.
- General good health, Isaiah 35:5-6.
- Death at the age of 100 will be considered young, Isaiah 65:20.
E. Glorified saints will judge and administer Christ’s Kingdom.
- “Do you not know that the saints shall judge the world,” 1 Corinthians 6:2.
- “If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him,” 2 Timothy 2:12 and Revelation 5:10.
F. In spite of these ideal circumstances, men will still sin and experience death, even though Satan is bound. At the close of the millennium, when Satan is released, men and women will follow Satan in a final rebellion against God, and God will judge them.
Conclusion
Throughout time, from the Garden of Eden until the end of the millennium, God continually demonstrates in every age that salvation is only by His grace. Apart from the death of Christ, there is no salvation, no forgiveness, no hope for the future. With the revelation of God’s grace, the millennial kingdom is God’s triumphant dealing with human sin and His blessing for His people.
