Jeremiah pronounces God’s judgments on surrounding nations.
Judgment on Ammon, vv. 1-6
A. The Reason, v. 1: The Ammonites took advantage of Israel’s circumstances and invaded Israel’s territory reserved for the tribes of Gad, Reuben, and Manasseh.
B. The Results, vv. 2-5: Ammonite cities will be burned and their neighbors will drive them out from the land.
C. The Reassurance, v. 6: God’s grace extended to Gentiles.
Judgment on Edom, vv. 7-22
A. The Punishment
1. The land stripped and its people killed, vv. 7-10.
2. Bozrah will be cursed, mocked, and destroyed, vv. 12-15, 17-21.
3. Its young people will be slaves, and its warriors frightened, vv. 20-22.
B. The Pride, v. 16

Judgment on Damascus, vv. 23-27

B. Damascus will be abandoned and forsaken, vv. 25-27.
