God’s Judgment on Egypt, 46:1-28
A. The Parties: Pharaoh Neco attacks Nebuchadnezzar at Carchemish. Pharaoh is defeated in 605 BC, v. 2.
B. The Pride, vv. 3-4, 7-9
C. The Panic, vv. 5-6, 13-18
1. The Egyptian soldiers are terrified and flee.
2. The Egyptian soldiers lost confidence in Pharaoh: “King of Egypt is but a noise,” a loudmouth.
D. The Punishment, vv. 10-12, 19-26
1. Egyptian blood covers Babylonian swords, vv. 10-11.
2. Egypt becomes a shame of nations, v. 12.
3. Egyptian cities are destroyed, vv. 19-24.

God’s Judgment on Philistia, 47:1-7
A. God sends the Egyptian army against Philistia, vv. 1, 6-7.

1. Egypt will overrun Philistia like a flood, destroying land and people, v. 2.
2. Fathers will abandon children to escape, vv. 3-4.
3. Gaza and Ashkelon will be destroyed, v. 5.
God’s Judgment on Moab, 48:1-47
A. The Apostasy, vv. 7, 35: Moab worships Chemosh and other false gods, 2 Kings 3:27.

1. Of the Moabites
a. They will hide in the hills and wilderness, vv. 1-6.
b. They will shave their heads, slash their hands, and wear sackcloth, vv. 37-39.
2. Of Moab’s Neighbors, vv. 17-24: They will sorrow over Moab.
3. Of Jeremiah, vv. 31-34, 36: Jeremiah’s heart is broken over God’s judgment on Moab.
E. The Assurance, v. 47: God will restore Moab in the latter days.
