C. The Doubt: Judah doubted they could defeat Assyria alone, so they entered into an alliance with Egypt and Ethiopia.
The Sign, v. 2
A. The Starkness: Isaiah is commanded by God to remove his outer garments and sandals.
B. The Shame: Isaiah is also commanded to walk around for three years in his underwear.
The Significance, vv. 3-5
A. Assyria will route Egypt and Ethiopia.
B. Assyria will strip and humble Egypt and Ethiopia.
C. Assyria will lead Egyptians and Ethiopians into captivity in poverty and shame.
